I've known Ruthann for over 25 years. She is a tireless worker, deeply committed to her Catholic faith and a true witness to the love of Jesus.

She worked closely with staff, students and parents in her role as Pastoral Assistant at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, seamlessly integrating the roles of parish, home and school in the formation of young people.

I think her gifts of listening well and communicating clearly would be of great benefit to Waterloo Catholic District School Board.

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ruthann Fisher for over 25 years. She has served with distinction as a trustee for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board and as a Pastoral Assistant at St. Francis Parish, Kitchener.

Ruthann is a passionate individual who advocates for children first through a faith-informed and faith-filled vision of Catholic education. Over the years, I have admired her leadership qualities – an advocate, one who listens, one who does her research on issues, one who makes decisions for the greater good of all students, one who will advocate for parents and one who does not have a pre-determined agenda.

She will serve the students, parents and ratepayers with distinction and commitment.

Trustees play an important role in ensuring quality education for our children, and we need strong leaders sitting at the board table.

I believe that Ruthann Fisher is one of those leaders. Ruthann already knows what it takes, having been a trustee for the WCDSB for the 2000 to 2003 term.

In that time, she never waivered in her support for students and staff and made student achievement a priority. As a pastoral assistant at St. Franics parish, she worked directly with teachers, supporting their work as Catholic educators.

Ruthann understands what is important and what it will take for our students to succeed and she is committed to that important work.

We need reasonable minded Trustees on our Catholic School Board. Ruthann will bring that perspective to the important work of Trustee.

We need to get our Board back on track and Ruthann is one candidate who can do that.

Lei Ann Ouellette-Wade

  • Lay Pastoral Minister at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Kitchener
  • Retired Teacher, WCDSB

Ruthann possesses a deep understanding of the importance of faith in the education of our children. As Pastoral Associate for decades at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Kitchener, she nurtured the faith life of the students in the feeder schools and worked closely with school staff so as to nurture and strengthen the school-parish relationship.

Ruthann understands that Catholic education is about more than academics—it is about nurturing the whole child and helping young people grow in faith through service.

As a former Catholic school trustee, Ruthann would once again bring a thoughtful, faith-filled, and committed voice to the role of WCDSB trustee.
